Answer: Well Jim ... we have two in our fair little Village. Yup, twice a year we invite the scooter crowd to town to enjoy some of the best touring roads in America. Spring and Fall, May and September is when they take place every year. The Aspencash Rally occurs every May and The Golden Aspen Rally every Fall. Question: My family and I are visiting Ruidoso this September and I've heard there is some kind of a motorcycling event at the same time of our trip. Should I be worried about my family's safety?

Answer: Well you must have just watched Marlon Brando in the "The Wild Ones". There's nothin' more frightnin' than bikers on pogo sticks tearin' up a town! Anyway ... safety is not a concern. Ruidoso features some of the best family-oriented rallies in the country. No street drinking or wet T-shirts contests ... none of that nonsense. Just a bunch of folks who like ride and swap stories and maybe get reacquainted over a frosty beer. The one thing I will caution you about, however, is the noise. The May Rally is smaller and not really that noticeable ... but the September Rally draws quite a crown and can be louder than you may want. So you may consider changing your travel dates for that reason alone ... or just get a bike and join the fun!
