Ruidoso at Christmas

Question: What is going on at Christmas time in Ruidoso?

Answer: Quite a bit actually. And it doesn't get much prettier to me than the lights everyone displays in Ruidoso's midtown area. We call it the Festival of Lights and it includes a spectacular Light Parade earlier in the month, a Village wide lighting contest and a few more things as well. It's a special time everywhere and Christmas in Ruidoso is no different just a little better ... but I'm pretty partial to the place. Visit www.ruidosoevents.com for the complete rundown on the Ruidoso Festival of Lights and other Christmas events in Ruidoso NM.

Question: Why are the rates so expensive for places to stay in Ruidoso at the Christmas holiday? I'm not sure my family can afford to come. Are there any special deals available.

Answer: Yuletide in Ruidoso is a popular time ... as it is just about everywhere else in the Western World. Economics 101 ... Supply and Demand my friend. Pay the price ... its a wonderful time up here as where else do you have a chance to see snow-ladened pine forests in the nearby surrounding areas. These lodgers in town have little choice but to raise their rates in peak season to make up for April and November when it seems no one comes to visit.
